I thought I would share something neat that I made...
Its a pet bed made from a vintage suitcase! My animals LOVE suitcases! So why not a suitcase bed? It could be for a cat or a dog, but it comes with a squeaky dog toy. I made a strap that snaps on the back so that it won't close on accident while your pet is inside. I also have a hat box, and two other suitcases that are larger than this one so if your pet is bigger or smaller let me know and I can make one for you. You can purchase it from my etsy store.
It's very neat and stylish. Unfortunately none of my three VERY fat cats will fit into it!
ReplyDeleteThis is SO cool - I love it! None of the fat Brats would fit. :(
ReplyDeleteI would definitely buy if they would though!
Maryann
That is oh so very cute!
ReplyDeleteI think Hershey might like to have the suitcase. It fits him like a glove!
ReplyDeleteFound this via Craft magazine blog. This is so creative and a great way to re-use that suitcase. My dog's too big for it unfortunately, but some lucky dog (and dog owner) is gonna love it.
ReplyDeleteOops. Wanted to add: It's almost worth buying just to have a conversation piece :o)
ReplyDeleteHow original! :)
ReplyDeleteLove it!

ReplyDeleteI love this, and I just have to say that I grew up with those suitcases!! The exact same ones! And boy are they sturdy.
ReplyDeleteMy cats would love that. What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't see anyone's mentioned it, but the link to your etsy shop is broken because you've got a comma instead of a period in there. Thought I'd give you a head's up so you could get some more traffic to the shop to look at them :)
You are one clever girl! This is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThis is so fun! You have the luckiest dog ever! I would imagine that you know this, but this month's Ready Made MacGyver challenge is old suitcases- I think that this would win hands-down. If you haven't already, you should enter!
ReplyDeleteHow did you put the strap on the back so the lid wouldn't close on your dog?
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say that I would buy instructions from you to make my own suitcase pet bed.
ReplyDeleteI love this! I have a thing for vintage suitcases and trunks right now, so I can't wait to make this for my kitties! Thank you! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is so great! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteI also found you via the Craft blog. What a great idea! I also love that you can store your pets toys & other paraphernalia in the little pockets. I'd love one for my dog Fudge but seeing as he's a great big Weimaraner he'd need a suitcase as big as the whole room!
ReplyDeleteWhat a super-de-duper idea! You're right, it's the perfect bed since they already love suitcases!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I went through a period of decorating w/ vintage suitcases - now they're just sitting in the attic! My three pugs should each have their own - don't you think?? Although everytime we get out suitcases...they know something is up (we're usually leaving them with a dogsitter to go on a trip!) Love the idea!
ReplyDeleteThat is so clever and CUTE!!
ReplyDeleteI can see the benefits of being able to easily pack a bag for our pooch when we go traveling, especially if it's already half packed!
ReplyDelete(Note to self, make sure bed is not in use before closing.)
The dishes and leads etc can fit into the pocket and our pooch will be the first one packed and ready to go. (No competition really, it takes me ages to pack!)
At least packing the dog's bag first means our very smart pooch will know she is comming with us and will patiently sit by the door or the car happily waiting, thus we avoid all the moping and sad eyes she usually gives us!
Hi! Can you please email me? I'm interested in publicizing this dog craft -- you can get my email on www.dogfessions.com or www.dogvice.com. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis is so adorable and I actually have a suitcase that would be perfect for my dog unfortunately I know she would never sleep in it she likes to sleep on my face.
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't mind, but I linked this post over at my blog. What a cool idea for a vintage suitcase!
