You will NOT believe this!

I am the queen of finding stuff! I was driving to go get Miriam some Zyrtex (her father passed on his allergies, yeah.) and saw a sewing cabinet chunked in the ditch. I didn't think much of it since the cabinet looked trashed. So on the way back I got a different angle of it and could see sewing machine inside. It was seafoam green and I just about slammed on the brakes! I pulled over as quick as I could and then ran across traffic and checked it out. Well it looked AWESOME! I couldn't get it out of the cabinet without some tools and luckily it was only 2 blocks from the house. So I ran home and ran in the front door yelling for my husband (freaked him out!). We grabbed some tools and ran back and put the whole nasty cabinet in the trunk. We threw the cabinet away it was in horrible shape, disgusting. But here it is...

The tension knob is gone and it would be way too much work and money to get it working again but I just want to display it. I cleaned it up already and its SO pretty! I need to take a cleaned up picture but its in the shed still waiting for the bottom to be cleaned better. Ooooh it was like Christmas finding that thing!!!

  1. That is way cool! I'm glad I'm not the only one that riffles through trash to find beautiful things! I must admit, I'm quite jealous of this find. It's a beautiful color.

  7. I have been looking for a used machine for a while. A friend of mine had a garage sale yesterday, so I called her to see if she had one to sell. She had one and held it for me. Imagine my surprise when I went to pick it up and this was the machine she had. But in perfect condition in it's storage box. With all of the accessories.

  8. holy carp! That's awesome! Just today I got gifted a CAR(yes you heard me) - 1954 Ford Fairlane... I'm so pumped. I want to paint it this colour... seafoam green. Sigh dreamy! Also, a few months ago a friends grandma passed away, and she got her old Brother sewing machine... from the 60s... she doesn't sew, so she passed it along to me... I'm tellin ya, I'm on a roll!

  9. I found one in excellent condition at an estate sale for $35. It's still in the table and it took me a few days to figure it out and it works perfectly. I have pics if you want to see it lookin' snazzy. I actually am trying to figure out when it was made which is how I found this blog.
